About Trainor Law
Having built Trainor Fairbrook into what was the largest and most-awarded real estate law firm in California’s Central Valley for decades, and after having merged with Buchalter in 2023, Chuck Trainor has recently returned to his roots as a sole practitioner, representing only a very select group of major clientele with respect to their commercial real estate transactional and land use matters.
As a commercial real estate transactional and land use attorney for over 40 years, Mr. Trainor has represented commercial real estate clients on hundreds of transactions in California and elsewhere, from small shopping centers and office buildings to several $1B+ transactions. His practice involved purchase and sale transactions and leasing for all types of commercial real estate, land use for project approvals, entity agreements and loan documentation. His clientele included developers, landowners, title companies, lending institutions, shopping center and office building owners, property management entities and construction companies.
During his career, Mr. Trainor has represented the seller of the largest office building portfolio sale in Sacramento at the time, the sellers in the largest land purchase transaction in Sacramento history, the developers of two of the largest locally-owned regional mall developments in the Sacramento area, the developer of several master planned communities (both industrial and residential) in Northern California, and Sacramento’s largest industrial owner/developer. He was also California counsel for the national developer of many large industrial parks throughout California and acted as counsel for resort real estate developments, an NBA arena project and owners of over a dozen golf course projects. He also for many years represented the second largest wine producer in the world on multiple agricultural transactions in California’s Napa Valley and Central Valley.
Mr. Trainor has been a frequent lecturer for real estate industry associations and has taught numerous Continuing Education of the Bar courses to attorneys including Real Estate Purchase and Sale Agreements, Real Estate Broker Practice and Real Estate Insurance Law. He has also lectured locally and nationally on leasing law, capital gains taxation law and construction law. He has also authored numerous articles relating to real estate transactions and construction.
